It’s that time of the year again where New Jersey’s biggest event, the State Fair at the Meadowlands rolls out their line-up of topsy-turvy rides, carnival games, and scrumptious food. They are celebrating 91 years and show no signs of slowing down. The fair will run for 17 days starting this upcoming Friday, June 22nd to Sunday, July 8th.
These thrilling rides are for the entire family, young and older. For the adults, they have more than 25 rides to experience and live animal rides for the kids. When you’re done with going upside-down and round and round, there are many special attractions like Batcopter, an original 1966 helicopter from the Batman TV Series.
After you land you can stroll down the strip of carnival games, shoot a couple hoops, pop some balloons, and win a big bear for that special one. If you’re too tired, have a seat and enjoy live shows like World of Wonder, one of America’s last “freak shows”. Will you see a three-headed camel or perhaps a mermaid?
No fair is complete without the indulgence of carnival food. State Fair offers favorites like funnel cake, cotton candy, candied apples, and curly fries. They also offer to the not so ordinary treats such as fried PB&J’s, Alligator bites, and even a Donut Burger, a hamburger with bacon and cheese nestled between two glazed donuts. Water please.
Regardless of the age group or occasion, you are guaranteed to have a ball at the State Fair. For more information about tickets, parking, and other special attractions, visit www.njfair.com .
